PETA Motions To Retire Georgia Bulldog

By  |

Oh, PETA… Here we go again. PETA has once again called for the University of Georgia to stop using Uga X, the English bulldog, as their game mascot.

“No dog deserves to be packed up, carted from state to state, and paraded in front of a stadium full of screaming fans,” PETA said on Twitter.

10 months ago, PETA had tried to get Uga X released from UGA after an altercation and Texas’ longhorn steer Bevo.

“If your favorite team is still forcing live animals to serve as mascots, please send a polite e-mail to its fundraising or community-outreach committee urging it to use willing human participants instead,” PETA said.

Uga has been UGA’s mascot since 1956, and he attends all home games, some away games and other sporting events as well.

This is not the first time PETA has targeted a Georgia live-mascot team. They also tried to get Kennesaw State to stop using their live owl. Next are they coming for Auburn and their War Eagle?
