Lizzo Dissed For Winning BET Soul Train Award

At the BET Soul Train awards, Lizzo was a trending news topic for her award win. However, Ari Lennox took to Twitter over his disappointment of not winning and many fans agreed.

“It’s not an ungrateful energy. It’s not ego. I’m sorry people view my tweets in that manner. I just really cared about this one,” Lennox said on Twitter. “If ball players can get upset about losing so can I. This was simply something I’ve always wanted.”

After Lennox tweeted, fans came to her defense, trashing Lizzo for not being a soul artist. It seems a general opinion is that Lizzo is a pop star, not even to be considered a rap artist either.

Lizzo didn’t deserve that award. Facts only. She makes pop music for white girls who have live laugh love tattooed on them. Ari Lennox made a black ass SOUL album and got snubbed. I’m tight.

At this time, Lizzo has not publicly commented on the negative comments. However, she did release a thank you video on Twitter for the Soul Train awards, as she was not in attendance.
