Kylie Jenner DID NOT Send Cease and Desist Letter Over ‘Rise and Shine’

By  |

Over the weekend, news broke that young billionaire Kylie Jenner sent cease and desist letters to companies that used the term “Rise and Shine” on their merchandise. This phrase was used by Jenner in one of her recent Youtube videos, which she later turned into merchandise (as the Kardashian/Jenner family usually does). Jenner trademarked the phrase earlier in October.

“Rise and Shine” became a meme from a video of Jenner singing it to her daughter. Jenner’s fans were struck by her sudden burst into song, and it quickly turned into something that was all in good fun. Thus, Jenner ran with the meme and created merchandise to essentially make fun of herself.

“I have not sent any ‘Rise and Shine’ cease and desist letters. ,” Jenner said. “’Rise and Shine’ was an unexpected moment. I had a lot of fun with it, and I have laughed so hard seeing everyone’s memes since the video came out a few weeks ago.”

However, before Jenner even had the chance to respond, CASED Clothing released a statement. CASED is the brand that allegedly Jenner was service the letter to.

“We are not being sued,” CASED Clothing said. “We are in no way cooperating with this drama and will be closing down the website until this all blows over.”

CASED Clothing has been selling a shirt that says “Rise and Shine” since 2017. At this time, they have taken down their website until the drama with Jenner blows over. They posted on Instagram stating that they have no problems with Jenner, and that they have never received anything from her.

Speculation about the alleged cease and desist letter started on Twitter.
