Is Harry Styles Connected to this Mysterious Fake Town?
The FBI works hard, but Harry Styles stans may work harder. Today, fans have seemingly connected the British singer to a fictional town named Eroda that has popped up in social media advertisements.
HARRY AND ERODA: A THREAD.

Talk about the fictional town erupted after a Twitter user got an ad for the fictional destination.
hi so i just got an ad on twitter for a place that, as far as i can tell, straight up DOES NOT EXIST (thread)

Upon researching Eroda, he discovered that the town’s location was not disclosed and all of the photos of said town were generic stock images. According to a Google Doc created by Eroda theory researchers, most of the photos are of European destinations or of areas in Portland, Oregon. A map of Eroda on their website also shows an unrecognizable island.
so i then grab my computer to try and find some actual info on this website and find this “guide” with a map that looks like it’s something someone would make in like 30 minutes to use for a DnD campaign or something pic.twitter.com/XZFOpQPwMx

There is also no way to book a hotel or trip to Eroda online.
i went to ALL (like 5-6) PAGES ON THIS WEBSITE…AND NONE OF THEM HAVE ANY LINKS TO BOOK HOTELS OR FLIGHTS OR TRAVEL EXPERIENCES OR ANY OTHER WAY FOR THEM TO GIVE YOU MONEYhttps://t.co/DDt1pi1RGd

People also noticed that seemingly normal accounts had been posting about Eroda, acting as if it is a real place.

At first, followers of the thread assumed that it was an alternate reality game, a popular genre of social media accounts that look real but are actually interactive forms of fictional storytelling.ย Others thought it could be anything from a school project to an ad agency test.
However, in a typical stan twitter turn of events, dedicated Harries started piecing together a connection between Styles and the fictional town. Fans are speculating that it could be a marketing push for an upcoming music video.
The initial connection is that Eroda spelled backwards is adore, which could coincide with the track named “Adore You” on his upcoming album, “Fine Line.” But things get a bit deeper as you dive into the website.
Many of the stock images are from a Scottish town where he was recently spotted filming a music video. Many of the street names and site descriptions on the website’s list of Eroda attractions also refer to track names from the album or imagery from the music video set.
the website also has an interesting choice of street names. coincidentally harry has songs on his upcoming album with the same names pic.twitter.com/rxxLc6URYr

Users have also found evidence that visitors of Styles’ official site have been targeted with Eroda ads.

This is pretty strong evidence they’re related. https://t.co/KVDf1js0qu

Some have compared the potential marketing push to Halsey’s promotion of her debut album, “Badlands.”
iโm rlly abt to make a thread about how this reminds me of badlands bc i need to get this shit off my chest

Not everyone thinks that Eroda is related to Styles, though. One Twitter user said that the push seems unnecessary for a star with his level of success.
Yeeeeeah, uh… Harry Styles is big enough with enough money behind him for regular advertising that he doesn’t need to do any ARG stuff to promote his album.
Tour tickets sold out so fast the websites had errors. He isn’t Eroda. The boy sells Watermelon Sugar, not fish. ::P https://t.co/e9uYbInHyX

Some think the Eroda website could be cult related.

Until we know for sure, the speculation continues. The town has already inspired a discord server and a subreddit.
