The Casas family was expecting their second baby when hurricane Harvey hit Houston. Mom, 9-year-old daughter and the rest of her family of 12 were forced to evacuate their home when the catastrophic storm hit their town.

Devastated, she dreamed of bringing her baby home to a warm, safe place with a yard, room for the children to play and cozy bedrooms to call their own. Habitat for Humanity made their dream a reality with an affordable, brand-new home for her family to live and grow in.

The Casas family enjoys a meal in their new home.

The Casas family wants to provide the same support they received during their difficult time to a family who has experienced the same grief.

The Casas family has been open in sharing their struggle with losing everything and how they were able to rebuild their lives, they hope their openness will provide a foundation of healing for others.
