How to Have a Fun Spring Break Staycation

By  |

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, many students have opted to spend their spring break vacation time in the comfort and cleanliness of their own homes. While it may not be a fancy European getaway or relaxing island destination, spring break at home can still be fun. Here are some exciting ways to spend your staycation.

Try Out Some New Recipes

You know those delicious meals that you see on social media that make your mouth drool—the ones you fantasize about randomly but never have the time to make? Well, now you have plenty of time. Pick out a recipe or two that you’ve been dying to try, and cook it in your spare time. If you’re bored of eating the same meals every week, you’ll be glad you did.

Have a BBQ

If the weather permits, fire up the pits! If you don’t want to enjoy your meal alone, invite some friends and family over to join the fun.

Create Plant Bulbs

Not everyone is into the rowdiness and excitement that is associated with spring break, which is completely understandable. For those of you who enjoy quiet, artsy activities, planting flower bulbs might be the activity for you.

Throw a Luau

Hawaii would be a perfect destination to travel to during spring break, but the cost and risks associated with the trip often make it hard for breakers to go. Luckily, you can bring the tropical destination to your own home with a luau party. Gather some friends, decorations, yummy food, tropical drinks and festive music, and let the good times roll!

Shop Online for a New Spring Season Wardrobe

If you haven’t already exchanged your sweaters and coats for crop tops and blouses, now would be a good time to do so. Use your vacation time to shop around online for some trendy outfits, so you can head back to school in style.

Plan a Virtual Party

If you and your friends are back in your hometowns or staying quarantined for safety reasons, plan a spring break party over video call! You can chat the night away and enjoy each other’s company using Zoom or Skype. Just remember to BYOB.

Have a Game Night
