‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ E-book Free During COVID-19 Crisis

By  |

Given the current global COVID-19 crisis with people restricted to their homes, wandering about their health, finances and future, the creators of “Chicken Soup for the Soul”  are giving away the original, now expanded, inspirational book for free.

The best-selling “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book series has been around since 1993. The idea for the books emerged when motivational speakers Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield found that people can help one another by sharing their victories over personal travails. The popular series has published 250 titles and been translated into more than 40 languages.

Now, 27 years after the first book was published, the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series is being published by husband-and-wife team Bill Rouhana and Amy Newmark.  They’ve added 20 bonus stories to the original book from 20 of today’s best-known motivational speakers and authors.

“We’re all stuck at home now during the coronavirus crisis and we’re looking for good reads. So we’ve made our most popular book ever available for free on every e-book platform,” said Newmark, who is publisher and editor-in-chief.

According to Newmark, the book will remain free until at least May 3, 2020, and readers can download it via Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Google, Apple Books, and other e-book providers.

Children can likewise download the three volume series “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Humane Heroes” for free. The books are suitable for kids of all ages so that parents or teachers can use the stories as an aid to help students learn at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The three ebooks are divided by age, the first volume being for elementary-aged students, the second for middle grades, and the third for high school students. The “Humane Heroes” series feature stories about zoo and aquarium animals, including a heartwarming tale of an orphaned cheetah who made friends with a Labrador puppy.

The publishers partnered with American Humane, a 128-year-old nonprofit committed to ensuring the safety, welfare and well-being of animals, to reinforce the idea of how society works best by supporting and saving animal life. The free ebooks are available on all popular ebook platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Google, and Apple Books.
