‘Bachelor’ Star Clare Crowley Fell in Love Too Fast for the Show about Falling in Love

By  |

“The Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” franchise have amassed a fortune because of its ability to help people find love for more than 18 years. However, the drama that has unfolded in season 16 of “The Bachelorette,” featuring 39-year-old Clare Crowley, is already causing a unique divide in Bachelor Nation––and it hasn’t even begun airing.

The controversy stems from the fact that Crowley apparently quit the show after just 12 days of filming because she fell in love with “Bachelorette” contestant Dale Moss. The production team of “The Bachelorette” never had to cope with the exit of their main star because there are strict contracts designed to encourage contestants to develop romantic connections, but only in accordance with the two month film schedule.

Prior to her recent departure from the show, Crowley was already a polarizing choice for the lead because she had already appeared on “The Bachelor” season 18, “Bachelor in Paradise” season 1 and 2, and “Bachelor Winter Games.” Fifth time seems to be the charm for Crowley, though, as there are rumors circulating that her and Moss are now engaged.

In response to Crowley’s potential nuptials, people took to Twitter to congratulate her and defend her courage.

Former “Bachelor” contestant Michelle Money shared her input on the situation and said if the rumors are true, “[I have] never been more proud. Can I just get a ‘hell ya’ on how much self-respect and respect for the other men it takes to stop production, stop the whole process of amazing, romantic dates with numerous guys. Including the guy she ‘fell in love with,’ we don’t know for sure. That says so much about Clare.”

While Money applauds Crowley for her willingness to defy production norms in the name of love, many fans weren’t as understanding. One popular Twitter user named Reality Steve publicly denounced the 39-year-old’s unprofessionalism.

Reality Steve has been closely following Crowley’s story and has made sure to keep his 300k followers informed as well.

Other internet-users provided some much-needed comic relief to the heated dispute by turning Crowley’s decision into a meme via Instagram.

Regardless of the internet’s impression of Crowley, there seems to be satisfaction with her new replacement, Tayshia Adams.
