‘Hers’ Features Its New Heart & Healing Collection

By  |

While scientific support or even studies are hard to come by when it comes to alternative therapies, the practice of using healing gemstones has been around for centuries in Eastern medicine, claiming they have metaphysical (physical and spiritual) benefits.

With that, Hers is now introducing its “Heart & Healing Collection” featuring some of these “healing” gemstone (rose quartz and rhodonite) jewelry and hibiscus (flower) skin care products. Everything is handmade, so the jewelry styles will be similar but never exactly the same. “Even if the idea of gemstone therapy or healing seems implausible, you’ll have a unique, eye-catching piece of jewelry,” says Hers editor-in-chief Annette Johnson.

Rhodonite is a stone associated with compassion, so it has been said to be an emotional balancer when being used for alternative medicine purposes. This semi-precious stone is allegedly capable of healing emotional wounds and nurturing love. It is claimed to heal emotional shock and panic. Wearing this stone has been said to strengthen your resolve and clear your psychic centers, making it easier to resist emotional distress.

Rose quartz is considered the “crystal of unconditional love” because it is said to speak directly to the heart chakra, opening the heart to provide a deep sense of fulfillment and content. The pink stone has also been said to be effective in attracting new love. Along with emotional wounds, rose quartz has been claimed to hasten recovery and balance the circulatory system.

Each of these semiprecious gemstones is intricately set in copper in the Heart & Healing Jewelry Collection. Copper is a metal that is said to promote a healthier immune system and slow aging. In fact, the U.S. EPA found copper to be the only solid material that can kill bacteria that pose a threat to human health. the ancient Egyptians used to wear copper jewelry for its health benefits. The sign for Ankh, which means eternal life, is also the sign for copper.

This metal can discolor over time, so if you want to preserve the color do not wear this jewelry when bathing or swimming.

As for the skincare line, each product features elements from the hibiscus flower. The women of Okinawa, Japan use hibiscus soap, shampoos, and face masks, and are considered to be some of the most beautiful women in the world. Our skincare line uses natural ingredients such as rose water, coconut oil, aloe vera, and of course- hibiscus! This flower is present in all of our products including soap, a facial spritzer, and lotion. Hibiscus is said to be good for people with eczema and our lotion is excellent for people with that particular skin condition.
