Jane Fonda is about to protest climate change at the Capitol building for her 10th consecutive week. And this time, she’s bringing another prestigious guest.
Tomorrow, she’ll be joined by legendary actress and longtime friend, Sally Field, for Fire Drill Friday, a weekly protest in Washington D.C. where Fonda calls for quick action toward a Green New Deal, an end to fossil fuel exploration and taxpayer subsidies to oil companies.
They’ll also be joined by the Rev. William Barber, environmentalist Winona Laduke and labor activist Dolores Huerta.
This week, the protest’s speakers are focusing on ensuring a “just transition” for workers and communities most affected by the move to a clean energy economy.
The rally will take place at 11 a.m. EST on the Southeast lawn of the U.S. Capitol building. It will also be live streamed on the Fire Drill Fridays Facebook page.
