Jay Leno Responds to Gabrielle Union AGT Exit

By  |

Last week, Gabrielle Union left America’s Got Talent after claims of a “toxic work environment” on the set of the show. Fellow judge Julianne Hough will also not be returning for the next season.

Several other AGT members have spoken out about Union’s hasty exit, including guest judge Jay Leno.

“I love Gabrielle Union, she’s a great girl. I really enjoyed working with her,” Leno said.

The news broke through Variety, who claims that racist comments were made on the set of the show. In the article, Variety mentions Leno as an alleged culprit of the toxic jokes made on set. When asked for a comment by the paparazzi, Leno said, “I can’t. This is not the place to discuss it on the street with traffic going by.”

Union has publicly talked a little bit about the situation, mostly thanking her fans for their loyal support.

“So many tears, so much gratitude,” Union said on Twitter. “THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone … you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever.”
