Twitter Had a Lot to Say About the New ‘Cats’ Movie Trailer

A new trailer for the upcoming musical adaptation of “Cats” was released today, and the internet had plenty to say.

The Broadway hit turned movie hits theaters on Dec. 20, 2019. It has an A-list cast that includes Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, James Corden, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson and Judi Dench. 

In case you don’t remember, the film’s first trailer, which was released four months ago, basically broke the internet for its hyper-realistic CGI.

The new trailer features that same half human, half cat animation that everyone has learned to love, but this time with with a new character. Idris Elba’s full cat persona as Macavity the Mystery Cat was shown for the first time.

Some commented that this new trailer added some new context to the plot of “Cats” that the original trailer did not provide
