Jane Fonda was arrested for the fourth Friday in a row today while protesting climate change justice at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C.
She was one of 44 people arrested today for Fire Drill Friday, a weekly protest demanding urgent action to battle climate change led by Fonda and other well-known activists.
This week’s theme was Women Can’t Wait. Fonda was joined by guest speakers Eve Ensler, author of “The Vagina Monologues,” and Emira Woods, senior adviser for The Shine Campaign, an organization advocating for clean energy.
Representatives from the Women’s March also attended the protest. According to the organization, co-founder Breanne Delgado was also arrested.
