Like in other cities around the country and world, Atlanta’s March for Social Justice & Women witnessed thousands of protestors – women and men alike – carrying signs and chanting, “This is what Democracy looks like.”
Billed as a peaceful demonstration of solidarity with women and underrepresented communities in Georgia, the march featured outraged residents from Congressman John Lewis’ 5th district who joined other individuals and groups, including Planned Parenthood. Also on the scene were anti-abortion protestors who carried signs showing fetuses. The small group of mostly men could barely be heard, however, over the shouts of “my body my choice.”
