Kylie Jenner Launches ‘Kylie Skin’

Following an elaborate pink-themed launch party, Kylie Jenner debuted her new skincare line, Kylie Skin, this week. Celebrities and influencers like James Charles, Draya Michele and, of course, the Kardashian family stepped out in all pink to support the highly sought after skincare line. The party was equipped with roller skating, a magazine screen for candid photos and Jenner’s custom Coconut Blush drink with tequila, coconut cream and rose water.

“Skincare and makeup go hand in hand and Kylie Skin was something i dreamt up soon after Kylie Cosmetics,” Jenner exclaimed in her Instagram post announcing the line. The skincare line is composed of a Foaming Face Wash, Vanilla Milk Toner, Walnut Face Scrub, Moisturizer, Eye Cream and Vitamin C Serum. All with simplistic, soft pink packaging. Each product is also cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan, paraben-free and sulfate-free. Additionally, every product is under $30, with the entire kit retailing at $125. Many of the products are currently sold out, less than one day after the launch.

Jenner’s friends Heather Sanders, Anastasia Karanikolaou and Tiffany Sorya test and review her products on Kylie Skin’s Instagram page. “Skin care is most important,” Karanikolaou states, “because makeup is makeup, but the bottom line is your face, and you just want to take care of it.”

Even though Jenner’s makeup line, Kylie Cosmetics, which debuted in 2016, received major backlash from other makeup moguls, like Jeffree Star, that criticism didn’t stop this new skincare line from selling out in less than a day. In a YouTube video, Star tested out Jenner’s $360 makeup brushes and said, “I definitely think that you’re paying for an over-hyped celebrity name. And the price…I just don’t think it’s worth it.”

On Jenner’s Instagram announcement post, she said the knowledge she obtained from Kylie Cosmetics helped build her new line. She said, “Building my makeup line from the ground up has taught me a lot and I’m so blessed with that knowledge to apply to my brand new company!”
