Firefightin’ Coffee Aids First Responder Families

In between battling fires and responding to emergency calls in the middle of the night, firemen from Rockford, Illinois, have brewed their own line of coffee for those late, responding nights. They call it, of course, Fire Department Coffee.
“We roast. We deliver. It’s that simple,” Fire Department Coffee says on its website.
For coffee drinkers who like a little extra pep in the morning, Fire Department Coffee offers spirit infused roasts — including Irish whiskey, bourbon, rum and tequila. From the medium-bodied Irish whiskey roast with flavors of toffee, butterscotch, and vanilla smoothness of bourbon, drinkers can enjoy a different kind of day.
For classic coffee lovers, the company offers original, dark roast, donut shop blend and decaffeinated options perfect for drinking and dunking.

Here are three unique flavors:

IRISH-WHISKEY-INFUSED COFFEE: Created with FDC’s signature spirit-infusion process, the Irish Whiskey-Infused Coffee is a medium-bodied roast with flavors of toffee, butterscotch, and vanilla.

BOURBON-INFUSED COFFEE: FDC’s signature spirit-infused coffee flavor is a bold, smooth flavor of bourbon.

DONUT SHOP: For classic coffee lovers, this medium roast coffee is perfect for drinking and dunking.

Not only does the company know coffee, but a portion of every order goes to support firefighting and military charities. “We know that it’s important to look out for the people who sacrifice so much of themselves to serve their communities and their country,” Fire Dept. Coffee says on its website. “They’ve been there for us when we needed them. So we’re going to be there when they need us.”
According to the National Fire Protection Association, there were approximately 1.2 million local firefighters in the U.S. in 2015. Of the total number of firefighters, 30 percent were career firefighters and 70 percent were volunteer firefighters.
A Fire Department Coffee foundation is also in the works to help give back to these heroes. For now, the company offers discounted prices for firefighters, first responders and military.
