Haute Couture Fashion Week Sets the Stage for Fall 2019
Couture Fashion Week is a wildly anticipated event by stylists, bloggers, buyers and celebrities. It is a way for designers to display their latest collections on the runway and offer fashion lovers a glimpse of the upcoming fashion trends. This year’s couture shows did not disappoint. There were a plethora of styles, prints, silhouettes, but there are a select few that stood out at trends for Fall 2019.
Color was a noticeably fresh trend this season. A full spectrum of hues was on display down the runway from many designers like Schiaparelli and Giambattista Valli. However, Valentino was a standout in bringing endless energy to the runway with bright colors and unexpected color combinations.
Well-tailored suits were a popular trend this season. Givenchy, Chanel and Dior, among others, presented suits with added flair such as bold shoulders, baroque style embroidery, feathers, or silky lapels making any women feel powerful.
This season’s runway was reminiscent to the 80’s. Georgio Armani paid homage to the extravagant era with polka dot prints and shoulder-heavy blazers. Alexandre Vauthier also made reference to the 80’s with his first tuxedo look with a ruffled button-down shirt and bow tie and a metallic pink cocktail dress.
There were plenty of voluminous dresses on the runway this season. Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli, Fendi exhibited soft and romantic dresses that seemed to float down the runway.
