Google Announces 2019 Doodle 4 Google Contest

By  |

Last night on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Google announced its 2019 Doodle 4 Google contest where students have the chance to win a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school as well as having their artwork featured on Google. To make this year’s contest even more special, Google has brought in two heavy-hitters, Jimmy Fallon and Kermit the Frog, who will go through all the submissions with 2018 National Teacher of the Year, Mandy Manning.

This year’s contest theme is “When I Grow Up, I Hope…” which invites K-12 students to use their wildest (or practical) imagination and enter their artwork — submissions are open until 3/18.

In addition to this year’s contest, last year’s winning Doodle design by 1st grader Sarah Gomez-Laneby is now featured on the Google homepage.

For more details, head to doodle4google.com or check out Google’s latest blog post, where you can find full contest rules and entry forms. I’d be happy to send hi-res images and GIFs of last year’s winning design, as well.

This year’s theme invites you to show us what you hope for in your future. Classrooms on Mars? Shoes that can fly? Food for everyone? A pill that cures everything? Take your ideas and put them into your Doodle!

Happy Doodling!
