Fans Applaud Taylor Swift & Katy Perry for Ending Feud

By  |

The long-lasting feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry has finally ended. But, how did the dispute begin in the first place and just how long was it going on?

The conflict originated in 2013 when a few dancers who were working on Swift’s Red Tour left early to join Katy’s Prismatic World Tour. Dancer Lockhart Brownlie said “We weren’t really dancing in Taylor’s tour anyway, so I had gotten a little bored,” in an interview regarding the subject.

The next year, in an interview promoting her album 1989 for the cover of Rolling Stone, Taylor Swift expresses confusion surrounding her relationship with Perry. “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not…” she explains, “…She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

Over the next few years the women continued to go back and forth through interviews and social media, until May of 2018. Perry sent Swift a literal olive branch with a note as a sign of peace, and Swift shared on social media saying, “Thank you.” Swift went on to incorporate Perry in her You Need To Calm Down music video as the hamburger to her french fries.

What are fans saying this about it all?

Fans are loving the forgiveness and new found friendship between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. “THIS IS EVERYTHING MY 6 YEAR OLD AND 16 YEAR OLD SELF COULD EVER WANT AND MORE,” a fan by the name of @snakeputation exclaims on Twitter.

“Katy and Taylor’s friendship was never really over. RISE SWIFTCTAS RISE,” another fan @repromantics tweeted.

It is safe to say this feud is officially over. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and fans alike are hopeful about the future.
