We are immediately seeking dynamic, successful sales executives with experience in media and/or display advertising sales. You will be responsible for selling advertising in the magazine, as well as integrating online solutions for clients, if appropriate.

Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Generate revenue by soliciting advertising contracts via appointments, cold calling, referrals and prospecting ads from other publications and sources
• Sell both print and digital advertising
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain accounts over time
• Interact with C-suite executives, marketing specialists and third-party agencies

Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year of media (publication, radio, TV, etc.) and/or ad sales experience
* Proven skills in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
* Technical competence and computer literacy (understand basic software, hardware), including Excel or CRM software
* Motivated, goal-oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
* High level of initiative and self-motivation
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
* Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction
* Undergraduate degree or high school diploma at minimum

Benefits:
The successful candidate will earn a modest base salary with an attractive commission plan that pays double-digit percentages that has unlimited potential. There is no cap on this plan and no territory restrictions. It offers flexible hours and regular training, as well as extensive onboarding.

We are looking for a successful, motivated account executive who can also effectively sell, as well as identify opportunities for, magazine subscription packages.

  • Generate revenue by contacting target organizations to provide cooperative marketing solutions while encouraging these groups to commit to a subscription package for their members or associates.
  • Devise custom packages to suit an organization’s needs
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain accounts over time
  • Interact with C-suite executives and marketing specialists

* Minimum 1 year of sales experience, preferably in the media

* Proven skills in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships

* Computer literacy (understand basic software, hardware), including Excel or CRM software

* Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction

We are looking for talented writers who are passionate about women’s issues and related topics. Articles will be a combination of the ideas you pitch ideas and assignments from the editor. Compensation is a flat fee per “qualified” submissions for posts and based on a sliding scale for feature stories.

This is 13-16 week commitment that can be satisfied in-person and, in some cases, virtually. The ideal candidate will have recently completed a degree in a related field (journalism, communication, English, marketing) or is in the latter stage (junior or senior) of his/her studies. Provide work samples and resume prior to the semester of your availability.

This is a flexible position that may require some travel, such as local events.

Requirements:

• Must have a working knowledge of programs in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.). Knowledge of InDesign and/or QuarkXPress is preferred but not mandatory.
• Mastery of Internet functions, especially social networking and blogging
• High level of initiative and self-motivated
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Propose stories for various departments based on traditional news values
• Research and write stories for the magazine and website
• When necessary, interview subjects of interest and relevance
• Edit and revise articles, according to AP guidelines
• Collaborate with editor and editorial team to ensure submissions are completed by deadline
• Develop verbiage and include images when necessary for editorial marketing efforts (i.e. social media, MailChimp, Shortstack, etc)

Will provide recommendation and documentation upon successful completion
