Bill Cosby’s Sentencing for Sexual Assault Begins Today

By  |  0 Comments

Bill Cosby will face sentencing today after being found guilty of 3 counts of aggravated indecent assault in April.

The 80-year-old comedian and television star stands to receive up to 30 years in prison for his crime against Andrea Constand, though his advanced age and deteriorating health have led many to speculate as to whether or not he will actually face any jail time. The trial itself was seen as a bellwether of the success of the #MeToo movement and whether or not it had succeeded in achieving its goals of bringing sexual predators to justice.

In addition to his jail time, the judge will determine whether or not Cosby will be classified as a sexually violent predator, a lifetime designation that would lead to counseling and community notification for the rest of Cosby’s life.
