Why

Her effortless, honey-dipped voice made huge waves in the music industry in 2014. After a few powerhouse singles were released earlier in the year, the final quarter ended with a bang, starting with the release of her debut solo album and a slew of award nominations and winning BET’s Centric Award for her song “The Worst.”  Although she was nominated for Best New Artist at the Soul Train Awards, the 26-year-old actually has been in the game for a “minute,” starting off contributing vocals to acts like B2K in the early 2000s. Setbacks (such as her first studio effort never seeing the light of day and switching labels) haven’t stopped her.  In fact, they may have all served to propel her into an even bigger spotlight in 2015.  Get first dibs on when she’s coming to your town at JheneAiko.com.
